What's New - Quarterly Wrap

Previously, Xero released its quarterly product updates as one-hour regional webinars - informative, but time-consuming to produce and challenging for users to stay engaged. To make the experience more accessible, these webinars were replaced with a “What’s New” product page and a short video trailer highlighting key updates.

I led the creative direction and production of the new video format, designing a fast-paced, engaging trailer that quickly captures users’ attention and encourages them to explore more on the product page. The concept reimagined Xero as a bold, modern broadcast channel, using kinetic typography, vibrant colour, and dynamic transitions to bring the updates to life.

I developed a set of colourful, unique shapes as a recurring visual motif throughout the trailer, helping unify the design and reinforce the theme. The trailer was also designed with a modular structure, making it easy to update each quarter with new product highlights while maintaining a consistent, recognisable format.

The creative direction was inspired by the visual energy of modern broadcast design. I drew from bold sports and entertainment graphics that use strong typography, vibrant colours, and geometric shapes to create a sense of rhythm and excitement. The use of repetition and dynamic transitions gave the trailer a fast-moving, on-air feel - turning product updates into something that feels fresh, energetic, and worth tuning in for.
